· Most breeders require an appointment in order to see their dogs. Therefore, it is imperative that you contact the breeders by phone prior to going to see their dogs.
· Each breeder listed reserves the right to approve all homes and has no obligation to sell to any individual
· Each stud owner listed reserves the right to approve all prospective breedings.
AKC Wants You To Know
· If … you buy a pure-bred dog that you are told is eligible for registration with the American Kennel Club, you are entitled to receive from the seller an application that will enable you to register your dog.
· If … the seller cannot give you the application, you should demand and receive full identification of your dog in writing, signed by the seller, consisting of the breed, the registered names of your dog’s sire and dam, your dog’s date of birth, the name of its breeder, and, if available, the AKC litter number.
· Demand a registration application form or other proper identification as described above. If neither is supplied, DON’T BUY THE DOG
Limited Registration
Limited Registration means that the dog is registered but no litters produced by that dog are eligible for registration.
Limited Registration means that the dog may not be entered in breed competition at AKC licensed events. Limited Registration means that the dog may compete in other licensed events such as Herding Trials, Agility Trails and Obedience Tests.
Limited Registration is determined by the litter owner(s). The litter owner(s) check the Limited Registration box on the AKC registration application rather than the Full Registration box.
Limited Registration certificates are white with an orange border; the full Registration Certificate is white with a purple border.
Limited Registration can be changed to Full Registration only by the litter owner(s).
Limited Registration helps breeders protect their breeding programs. If breeders do not want puppies used for breeding purposes, they can request the Limited Registration option for those puppies.
